Build a social media management portfolio by showing clearly labeled practice work, approved client work, and the process behind each example. Never invent a client, testimonial, metric, or before-and-after result.
Choose a clear format
A page, PDF, or shared presentation can introduce your organic service scope, show two to four examples, explain your process, and give prospective clients a way to contact you. Label every example as self-directed, volunteer, or paid client work, and get permission before sharing names, materials, screenshots, or metrics.
Create ethical sample projects
Use fictional businesses that are clearly labeled or real businesses only with written permission. Show a content brief, post ideas, finished captions and visuals, and an approval or scheduling mockup. Do not make practice work appear to be a paid engagement or a published result.
Document real work carefully
State the context and your agreed contribution, show approved deliverables, describe the calendar and approval process, and report permitted metrics with their time period and source. Define scope boundaries before discussing results.
